Peach Turmeric Oat Smoothie

Have you ever gone to the store for one item and left with 10 items in your cart? But not necessarily  leaving with the thing you came in for.  Lately this has been a reoccuring theme with me, but I gotta say this time it was worth it. I went to the store in the hopes to buy apples, pink lady apples to be exact. Unfortunately, that weekend there were no pink lady apples so I settled for the ginger green apples. I rummage through the bagged apples ( that a story for another day) until I found one worthy of buying. With my apples in hand I turned into the next aisle and saw a display of the most beautiful peaches  ever.  I dropped the apples and grabbed a crate of peaches instead and like clock work I’ve been going back every few days to re-up. And to think I never been a peach fan growing up.

Peaches are high in many vitamins and minerals such as  vitamin A, beta-carotene, vitamin C , magnesium, iron, zinc, and copper. It’s also known to help prevent certain diseases and cancers and its also great for the eyes and skin. With benefits like that,  I think a peach a day would definitely keep the doctor away.

So after a few days of eating peaches as a snack , I decided I’d whipped up a peach smoothie instead. One perfect for breakfast filled with fruits, grains and seeds . The special kicker in this smoothie is the turmeric , ginger and cinnamon. These spices  gives the smoothie a nice kick while also aiding in anti-inflammation and digestion. I made this smoothie with water but for a creamier taste almond milk or plain kefir would do the job. This was great hit with my family, and I think it will be for yours too!
