Sunflower Seed Butter and Fruit Sandwiches

On any given day, my breakfast options are usually limited to two things: Hot Oatmeal or  a Green Smoothie. These two options can get old really quick, even for a person like me who like routine . So this week I decided I would make sunflower seed butter and fruit sandwiches for a change.  My days of  a simple pb &j sandwich has been limited to none for about a year now, since I’ve come to notice that I get a semi-allergic reaction to any type of nut butter. So I was pretty excited when I found  sunflower seed butter as an alternative. You really cant tell the difference in the taste, but if you’re a real nut lover you might say otherwise. Sunflower Seed butter contains the same amount of protein and a little bit more fiber compared to your standard peanut butter. So it’s pretty much a win-win. The secret ingredients that make these sandwiches a step up from your everyday sandwich is the cinnamon and ginger. A few sprinkles of both give these sandwiches a spicy kick while helping you with digestion and boosting your metabolism. Check out the recipe below:

Sunflower Seed Butter and Fruit Sandwiches

  • Seeded or Sprouted Bread (toasted)
  • Sunflower Seed Butter (unsalted or regular)
  • Any fruit of your choice
  • Dash of Cinnamon
  • Dash of Ginger
  • Pumpkin Seeds (optional)
  • Sliced Almonds (optional)

Happy Eating!

P.S.: My favorite go to Sunflower Seed butter is Trader Joes! Less ingredients and there’s an unsalted version.
