Acai Berries has been touted as the ultimate super-food for some time now. It is said that acai berries are very high in antioxidants, prevent early signs of aging, stimulates healthy digestion, improves immune function and the list goes on. So when I went shopping this weekend and saw frozen acai packs in stock, I just knew I had to have them. I never had acai before so I figure the best way to try it was through a simple smoothie. I originally planned to make an acai and blueberry smoothie, but as I grabbed a banana from the fruit basket an avocado decided to fall off the counter and burst. So at that point, I decided I was making an acai blueberry and avocado smoothie.
This smoothie is an interesting mix of acai and avocado, sweetened with bananas and blueberries. Packed with antioxidants, amino acids, mono-saturated fat, potassium, and fiber. This smoothie is not only healthy it’s also hearty. Making it perfect for breakfast or any time of the day. Check out the recipe below:
Acai Blueberry and Avocado Smoothie
Ingredients
Smoothie Ingredients
- 1 packet Unsweetened Acai
- 1 Hass Avocado
- 1 Banana
- 2 cup Blueberries
- 12 oz Orange Juice or your choice of liquid ( for a thinner consistency add more to your liking)
- 3 Pitted Dates (optional)
Instructions
Smoothie Instructions
- Defrost the Acai for about 5 minutes
- Add the Acai to the blender with all the ingredients in a blender.
- Blend till smooth.
- Serve and enjoy.
